Funding rates
LEADER funding is available to us thanks to funding from the European Union, the federal government and the state of Lower Austria. The amount of funding depends on the project type and can be between 30% and 80% of the eligible project costs.
30% funding is granted for projects with direct income-generating measures. They are considered relevant to competition. A funding bonus of 10% is possible if special criteria are met.
50% funding is granted for projects with measures that do not directly generate income. They are not relevant to competition. A funding bonus of 10% is possible if special criteria are met.
70% funding is granted for projects on cross-cutting objectives and regional focus objectives (non-income-generating measures). Cross-cutting themes include education, health, young people, gender/women, migrants, people with special needs, climate and environment, demography, regional culture and identity, smart villages. Regional focus topics include: Smart Region & Digitalization, Liveable Villages & Cities, Unique Landscape. Possible funding bonus: 10 %.
The project types described above can be designed not only as so-called individual projects, which relate only to the LEADER region, but also as (national) cooperation projects; the funding rate for a cooperation project depends on the project type and the decision of the LEAD-LAG project selection committee. LAG cooperation projects have a basic funding rate of 70% with the possibility of a 10% funding bonus. Transnational cooperation projects are funded at 80%.
LAG management & sensitization has a basic funding rate of 70%.
If a LEADER project corresponds to a special measure (from the special guideline on project funding, a LE-specific state guideline or directly from the LE program), the restrictions of the special measures are applied with regard to the funding intensity.
