The former operator of the department store could not meet the specifications of the company SPAR Austria and thus the closure of the business was decided. As a result, many fellow citizens approached the community with an urgent request to receive the Nahversoger. The nearest Nahversoger are 5 to 10 km away. In recent years, a rethinking of shopping behavior has increasingly shown. The awareness to maintain and strengthen local businesses has risen considerably. Senior citizens use the facilities in the village up to 100%.

Ms. Christa Weigl has offered to lead the future business. The municipality bought the business building, gave the order to charge the costs and to arrange a financing.

As part of a first sub-project, the existing building was to be designed to be future-oriented and barrier-free by means of refurbishment measures and an extension or conversion. Furthermore, a customer and child-friendly parking lot next to the local provider is being planned. This 1st project is supported by NAFES.

Within the framework of the present LEADER project, the equipment and business equipment, such as refrigerators, shelves, etc. as well as barrier-free access are to be made possible.

The community thus has a secure supply for the population for the next few years.
