Raising awareness of Kellergasse

The typical Weinviertel landscape includes the unique and culturally and historically valuable cellar lanes. Despite years of endeavour, they still need to be protected from decay. By raising awareness and imparting knowledge, the aim is to make all residents of the Weinviertel aware of the value of the Kellergassen. They are motivated to find innovative new uses for the cellar lanes. This also serves to preserve the cellar lanes. Cellar owners are addressed directly through various measures so that they do not let their cellars fall into disrepair. Image folders, craft sheets for children, video series, workshops/specialist lectures, reels/tik-toks together with influencers and image campaigns about cellar lanes are used to raise awareness among Weinviertel residents. The videos and lectures also deal with the correct renovation of cellars in order to motivate cellar owners to preserve their cellars. Lectures are held for municipalities on the types of dedication in cellar lanes and they are supported in the expansion of the cellar lane protection zones. In addition, the municipalities should organise at least one event per year in the cellar lane.
