10 years Jakobsweg Weinviertel
The “Jakobsweg Weinviertel” is a well-signposted pilgrimage route in north-eastern Lower Austria and leads from Drasenhofen to Krems an der Donau with a total length of 153 km. It was opened on Easter Monday 2010 and celebrated its 10th anniversary just before the start of the COVID-pandemic. A press conference and additionally with a public book presentation of the spiritual companion took place in February 2020. The “Radio NÖ Frühschoppen” was postponed to 2021 and could only take place in 2021 as a broadcast without an event. Many marketing activities took place during the project period, such as an annual online campaign in spring and autumn with google ads and banner displays, advertisements were placed in the magazine "Der Pilger" and also in the Rother hiking guide "Jakobswege Österreich". Pencils were produced as give-aways for various events, e.g. at the Weinviertel Fest in Vienna. A book "Nicht nur fromme Gedanken vom Jakobsweg Weinviertel" was published as a spiritual companion with texts by Rudi Weiss and watercolours by Laf Wurm. The guidebook Jakobswegweiser Weinviertel was completely revised and reissued and is now also available in bookshops. Regional pilgrims' meetings and an annual trail maintenance round off the activities.
