Artistic interim use of a temporary vacant property in the community of Groß-Schweinbarth

Poysdorf, the wine town in the eastern part of the Weinviertel, created a new recipe to activate a vacant building. The ingredients: (1) the historic, disused house of the night watchman (2) 1000 cookbooks (3) many people with stories and special knowledge about cooking and regional food. Heidi Strobl, a wellknown cooking journalist in Austria, acted as the „cook“ and created a menu consisting of a temporary cookbook exhibition and many interesting discussions and culinary theme parties.

The project was realized within the scope of the „Viertelfestival NÖ Weinviertel 2022“. Due to integrated activation of unused houses the project was supported by LEADER Weinviertel Ost. Visitors were invited to post ideas for a sustainable use of the historic building, e.g. adaption to a simple pilgrim hostel, integration in an outdoor escape game or adaption to a seasonal exhibition space.
