Cellar-lane Congress 2015
In 2015, on November 5th, the first Cellarlane Congress was organized by the association "KellergassenführerInnen im Weinviertel" at Reichensteinhof in Poysdorf. It provided new ideas for the use and the future of cellar lanes. Speakers from Austria, Germany and the Czech Republic described different aspects of this remarkable piece of cultural heritage. Various contributions highlighted the importance of cellar lanes for the local and regional tourist business. Current programmes like „Advent in der Weinviertler Kellergasse“ or „In die Grean gehen“ were mentioned as well as several initiatives how cellar lanes can interactively be put in scene for the public.
Special attention was given to conservation measures and new ideas how press houses, cellars and cellar lanes can be used nowadays and in future. Holiday-apartments, biker-stops as well as some excellent wine-marketing examples provided by the Franconian-wine-tour-guides were discussed.
The Cellarlane Congress 2015 was more than a conference supported by the LEADER programme. It was an opportunity for education under the principle of lifelong learning and an occasion for practical exchange of experience. 126 participants – among them many Cellarlane-Guides as well as tourism-experts and representatives of institutions, communities and regional associations – used the conference for networking and to strenghten the cross-border-cooperation with partners from Franconia (Germany) and from South Moravia (Czech Republic).
