Radregion Weinviertel

The project “Radregion Weinviertel – das Besondere erRADeln ” was originally planned from 2020 to 2022. However, due to Corona, some measures (e.g. excursions, trade fair appearances, cycling paths) could not take place or not to the extent planned and therefore the project had to be extended until mid-2023 so that the planned measures can be implemented. In addition to the production of attractive advertising materials for trade fair appearances and the design of a guest magazine for cycle tourists, many other marketing measures were successfully implemented online and in print. The trade fair appearances were able to be completed as planned - albeit delayed due to Corona. The focus was on 2023, in which appearances were organized at the Bike Festival in Vienna, at the ADFC bike fair in Bonn, at the Fiets en Wandelbeurs in Utrecht and at the Weinviertel DAC presentations in western Austria and Germany. The Ybbstalradweg (2022) and the Thayarunde (2023) were visited with partner companies from the Weinviertel to get input for the Weinviertel. In addition, 25 Weinviertel cycle paths were traveled and the sign locations were mapped so that improvements and adaptations to the Weinviertel cycle path network could be made and will continue to be made in the future. In summary, one can say that this project has made a significant contribution to the further development of the Weinviertel into a well-known cycle tourism destination!
